Jazz pianist
and singer
Federica Lorusso was born in Bari, Italy.
From the first years of her life she showed a strong artistic inclination, strongly supported by her family. She began her musical studies privately as a singer at the age of 12, playing the piano as a secondary instrument. At 16 she discovered jazz thanks to her teachers Vito Di Modugno and Serena Fortebraccio and in 2014 she started her university studies in jazz piano at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. Federica has performed in various international venues in Holland (Bimhuis, Jazz in The Gracht, Bibliotheek of The Hague, Diligentia Theater, Delft Jazz Festival and many others) in Italy (JazzMi Festival in Milan, Jazz in Andria, Nel Gioco Del Jazz in Bari) in Spain, Belgium, Greece (Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival). In 2019 she was one of the 10 finalists of the famous Italian jazz competition "Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani". Federica has shared the stage with famous artists such as Rachel Gould, Eric Ineke, John Ruocco, David Linx, Michael Abene, Tineke Postma, Fabrizio Bosso, Giuseppe Bassi, Giovanni Scasciamacchia and many others. She is finishing her master studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in piano and voice.
